Good Citizen Definition:

    A good citizen is a blessing to society. He feels that he has certain responsibilities towards the state, just as the state has certain responsibilities towards him. Thus he is aware of both his privileges and his duties.

Good Citizenship Values , Qualities:

1.    His foremost duty is his loyalty to the country of his birth. It should be dearer to him than all his worldly possessions, and he should always be ready to sacrifice everything for its sake.

2.    He should have firm and deep faith in the welfare of his motherland.

3.    He has to obey law and order.

4.    He has to respect the constitution of his country and to obey its laws.

5.    He must be vigilant against the enemies of the country.

6.    He must not do something which may help the anti-nationalists or the enemies of the country.

7.    He should have no sympathy for law breakers, and he should help the state in their arrest.

8.    He must do all he can to make the criminals feel that all respectable people are against them.

9.    A good citizen takes intelligent interest in politics, so that he may use his vote for the good of the country and the nation.

10.                       He is clean in habits and thoughts.

11.                       He leads a simple life. Odds never damp his courage.

12.                       He is confident, brave and pure. He is sincere friend of humanity.

13.                       He treats his fellowmen with kindness.

14.                       He always helps the poor and needy. He never ill treats anyone. He does not deceive anybody. He is a man who is clean in thoughts, words and deeds.

15.                       He does his duty well.

16.                       He tries to attain excellence in every field of life.

17.                       He has a great sense of duty. If he is a soldier, he bravely sticks to his post. If he is a labourer, he puts his heart and soul in his work. >If he is a teacher, he is zealously concerned with the intellectual progress of his students. >If he is a lawyer, he labours hard for the triumph of the truth. >If he is a doctor, he does his best to cure his patients. So, he commands respect in every field of life. He deserves highest honours.

18.                       He does not fail to distinguish between right and wrong, true and false, real and unreal.
